Delurk!

dday_button_copy.jpg

Hey, it's National Delurking Week! Do you think they make a Hallmark card for that?
Anyway, that means that you (yes, you) should leave me a comment. I'll return the favor!

And to help, I'll ask you a question (stolen shamelessly from The Big Lug):
What color combos are you most fond of at the moment?

OK, this question is a bit self-serving, as I'm planning to dye some yarn this weekend and I don't want to do the same things that I always do, so I'm looking for inspiration from you!

And this weekend when I have time to upload and process pictures, I'll finally show those pillow pictures, but they have to wait until Saturday... AND you'll see what I've been working on this week after work. As a hint, it involves power tools...

I'm happy to delurk, because I always mean to leave comments, but then forget...

I think I'm going to make a baby sweater out of Cherry Tree Hill purple Supersock Solid with Lana Grossa's Meilenweit Colortweed 1005. Maybe Devan from Knitty's archives. The Lana Grossa is a purple, mauve, pink and blue that is really pretty.

Orange with pink or green! :)

Posted by: Debi on January 10, 2007 09:58 PM

I'm into purples, unfortunately. Lots of purple. I was in a few ribbon stores today, and while I really don't have anything to do with ribbon, there were a lot of interesting ones that had some great, unusual color combinations. I bought a few yards of some to remind me the next time I'm putting things together - might be an idea for inspiration.

for some reason I have a thing right now for oranges and browns, oranges and pinks. Now, orange is not my color and neither is pink, yet somehow I am gravitating towards those colors! it's strange.

otherwise it is my normal assortment of blues + purples, reds + black + grey, browns. ;)

hmm... power tools, eh...

i'm not really a lurker since i've commented before (although i think its been a while)... anyway, current fav color combo is brown and powder blue, maybe even brown and a light grayish purple. which are both odd, since i normally like bright colors!

can't wait to see the new stuff!

Look at me delurking!!

I'm into slate blue and pale, pale orange right now. Not the common selection, I would imagine.

Posted by: Erin on January 10, 2007 10:51 PM

I'm not usually a lurker here but I'll delurk anyway. :-) I'm still really fond of pinks and greens or pinks and browns right now for some reason.

Posted by: sarah b. on January 10, 2007 10:53 PM

At the moment I am thinking Tiffany blue and dark chocolate brown.

Posted by: Carol on January 10, 2007 11:40 PM

I'm not really a lurker anyway... but happy delurking week or whatever!

color... I'm really drawn right now to rich reds and purples. Like violet with splashes of crimson and eggplant. I guess I feel regal?

Green and purple!

Posted by: Helene on January 11, 2007 03:07 AM

Been in a purplish mode lately- though the siren song of pink is tempting too.

Posted by: Amy on January 11, 2007 05:28 AM

I've been wearing a lot of black lately, actually. Oh - also brown and purple. And that rusty-orange color and light teal. This sort-of-winter has made everything a little weird, wouldn't you say?

Posted by: Maya on January 11, 2007 07:51 AM

Lurk, lurk.

Posted by: Dad on January 11, 2007 08:44 AM

HIya!

Green and BLUE!

Posted by: heather on January 11, 2007 10:38 AM

Does delurking week involve cake? I support any event that includes cake.

I've really been drawn to turquoise lately, both in late and dark shades. It think it would look great with a deep, saturated purple or bright azure blue.

Hmmm... just bought some yarn to make a hat in red and tan. They happened to be next to each other on the shelf at the yarn shop, or else I never would have put the two together. But I think they go well together. Happy New Year!

Posted by: Coleen on January 11, 2007 01:18 PM

unlurk unlurk. Dad never gets it right!!
I'm thinking some soft lavender and burgandy with hints of blue and gold. Can anyone say heather??
It's got to get warmer before I can dye. Going to have to do it out on the sun porch!!
Love Ya
Mom

I'm a huge fan of Shades of brown. Oh, and pink/brown or turquoise/brown combinations

Posted by: Nik on January 11, 2007 05:10 PM

I read your blog all the time, but don't leave a message very often. I have been knitting up blue and tan socks and just love the colors. I bet it would be great if you did purple and tan as well....

Happy dyeing, and happy long weekend!

Fellow Hoosier! I grew up in Seymour, which is an hour south of Indy straight down 65.

Posted by: Ginny on January 11, 2007 06:18 PM

I'm no lurker but I'll leave you a comment! :) Right now I like red and khaki.

Posted by: biglug on January 11, 2007 08:56 PM

My favorite color is blue, so I am usually attracted to things bluish in nature. Although I am waiting for some sock yarn in a fall green/yellow/red colorway from Opal that I am very excited about.

Posted by: Stephanie on January 11, 2007 10:45 PM

lime green/brown

Posted by: lyn on January 12, 2007 11:20 AM

I've been very into browns and blues (mostly chocolate brown, lots of blues) for a while lately, and recently I started finding myself picking up a lot of burgundy/wine/plum shades. Something very wintry about those colors.

Posted by: anne on January 12, 2007 12:42 PM

Right now, I'm in a bit of a brown phase, so: red/brown, puce-y green/brown, and blue/brown are among my favorites. Also, olive-y green/cream (I just finished my We Call Them Pirates hat in those colors, and it's really appealing to me somehow).

Hmm. Looking at those now, it seems really bland and not-too-exciting for dyeing.

red and purples, lately-- but not together. :)

Posted by: aija on January 14, 2007 12:43 AM

Delurking here- I'm into chocolate brown & celery green, and orange and pink.FUN!

Posted by: PurlGirl on January 14, 2007 09:06 AM

Why purple and green of course! Never a lurker though and well chocolate and blue is lovely too!
Hope all is well

Officially delurking. I do stop by regularly and so enjoy your blog.

Right now, my favorite color combination has to be anything with chocolate brown, namely blues and deep pinks. However, I found myself drawn to some gray and blue combinations recently as well.

Hey there girl! I leave comments anyway (sorry I am late on this one!)
I am into all colors right now - very Project Spectrum ;) I guess I am thinking a lot about blues and browns though...

Posted by: Lolly on January 16, 2007 09:25 AM

Hi!Way guilty of lurking :D I come and read your blog all the time, though.

I've been leaning towards amethyst purple and tan lately.Love those colors!

Posted by: Nicole on January 17, 2007 07:08 PM

Hello! Hi!

My faves lately are being TOTALLY overdone, but I love love love chocolate and sky blue (w/ grey OR cream OR turquoise accents).

Posted by: chelsea on January 18, 2007 03:58 PM

i'm not sure if i'm "delurking" because i do subscribe to you, so i know i read regularly, but i don't know how frequently i blog.
now colors ... i think nature does that well ... such as the brown/green combo of a kiwi, or the colors i see as i walk in the woods in the fall or sping (in the fall ... the brown of the trees and limbs against the different shade of foliage)(in the spring, the brown against all the shades of emerging greenery) ... the colors of looking up at the sky, with the branches against a carolina blue sky or a mixed gray wintery sky. stuff like that.
i also like very tonal mixtures ... like reds & pinks, green & green, colors that convey a mood or concept. and look at art/paintings ... what do you like? which color attract you? which are successful? maybe the colors all seem so tame and mellow, and then ... POP!!! ... you're smacked with the most intense turquoise you ever laid your eyes on. or colors of simultaneous contrast ... opposites on the color wheel, of equal hue/saturation/value ... and they vibrate :)
i love all colors. and i guess that's why my abode appears so haphazard ;)

oops, meant to say "comment" ... i couldn't proofread because my text was "covered" by an image when i was leaving my comment.

Hi Sarah! My favorite color combo right now, thanks to a swap partner, are pink and gray. I am totally loving this Norwegian mitten set I'm knitting! I also love turquoise and deep brown or turquoise and black. And I really like red with camel.
