Kool-Aid Rainbow

KoolAidRainbow.gif
Isn't that a beautiful rainbow? And it's all from the wonder of Kool-Aid. L-R: Lemon Lime, Changin' Cherry, Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Switchin Secret, the original (undyed) yellow, Slammin' Strawberry Kiwi, Soarin' Strawberry Lemonade, Orange (which is much oranger than the picture), Grape Illusion (a dark orange), Cherry, Tropical Punch, Blastin' Berry Cherry, Black Cherry, and Grape. The colors are good in this picture except for the oranges. Somehow the Berry Blue didn't make it into the pic... it's a darker blue than the Ice Blue - really pretty!
Tuesday night was the ML Knitting night at my house and we dyed! I bought quite a lot of yellow 100% wool online a little while ago because it was cheap, but I really didn't need anything that yellow. Then I read the excellent knitty article about Kool-Aid dyeing, and decided that we needed to give it a try. And of course, I documented the entire process :) (click for photos)

Wow ! I'm impressed ! What are you going to make with it ? Or are you just busy playing ? Dyeing yarn is such fun.

I dyed this weekend too!

WITH KOOLAID!

Your colors came out great! What kind of rainbow-thing are you going to make now?

Great colors -- I tried this last summer with some ugly superwash wool that I got on eBay and the colors were very pale (cuz' of the superwash, I guess). I'll have to try this again!

Very cool! I've seen so many people doing this recently, I think I'll have to give it a try. I hope you enjoy knitting it up into something fun.

You know, I bought some wool last summer (or fall) to do some dyeing and ever did get around to doing it. I love the Kool-aid colors :)
